Wentworth Castle Gardens for the National Trust

A prestigious project for the national trust, we were commissioned to resurface the Union Jack garden at Wentworth Castle Gardens Barnsley. Working on a site shared with the Northen College, stakeholder management was an important factor in the successful completion of this project.

The project consisted of 1200m2 of existing Brendon gravel paths which were experiencing erosion from rain and were not suitable for wheelchair and accessibility access.

We stripped of the existing surface and edgings, installed new edgings and subabse. Laid new asphalt and then resin bound aggregate.

A tricky project consisting of limited access to the gardens of only 2m access, all materials having to be double handled from the old walled garden compound and then transported 500 yards to the working site by site dumper.
